Musical Shots Pt. 2

The second set of gig shots I'm showing off (again, one of very few shows where I bring my camera), is of Shannon Rose & the Thorns at their CD launch party January 13, 2013. It was an awesome winter day in Wakefield, Quebec at the Black Sheep Inn. The show opened with a solo cellist by the name of Raphael Weinroth-Browne. He's known for silencing crowds and he did just that. Following his half hour set, Shannon took the stage and sparkled -- seriously, awesome dress!
I've known these guys for a couple of years now and I barely miss a show. Just a couple of weeks before, I hired Shannon and her husband Steve (pictured smiling)  to play an acoustic set at my sister's wedding as my gift to the bride and groom. They were a hit and I think they might have gained a broader fan base from that night alone.
Back to the launch party, Shannon played tunes from all her seasons (look her up here and you'll understand) and  had special guests on horns as well as our good friend Ashley Newall for a couple of duets. Raph also returned to play cello on one of her tunes. Lovely day!
